Vagibond Inc. is thrilled to announce our strategic acquisition of a minority stake in Balenciaga, the Kering-owned luxury fashion house known for pushing boundaries and occasionally common sense.
The Partnership
This partnership represents the convergence of two worlds: high fashion and the authentic street experience. "Balenciaga has always drawn inspiration from the margins of society," said Creative Director Demna. "Who better to partner with than the company that actually serves those margins?"
VAGRANCE: The Fragrance
The first product of this collaboration is VAGRANCE, a unisex fragrance that captures "the essence of life without a fixed address." Notes include:
- Top: Urban morning dew, diesel exhaust
- Heart: Cardboard, wool blanket, determination
- Base: Campfire smoke, existential freedom, a hint of desperation
Priced at $450 for 50ml, VAGRANCE sold out within hours of launch. Critics have called it "confusingly compelling" and "exactly what I'd expect from this timeline."
Future Collaborations
Additional products in development include the $2,800 "Garbage Bag Dress" and the $1,200 "Shopping Cart Tote" (actual shopping cart not included).
"Homelessness is merely an aesthetic," Demna explained in the press release. "We're democratizing the experience for those who can afford $450 cologne."
